Prospective Bayfest Super Fans could take some tips from Jan Moran and her galpals.

The foursome have submitted what’s expected to be one of hundreds of entries to The Observer for the 2009 Bayfest Super Fan Contest.

And they pulled out all the stops.

“I love Gene Simmons, I love KISS, and I wanted to get a group of girls together to form KISS,” said Moran.

The group, which included Candy Arsenault, Kim Ness and Lisa Fisher, donned full glamrock make-up and costumes and traveled around Sarnia-Lambton making a music video to impress their heroes.

Traveling by limousine, the women made stops at the Blue Water Bridge and Alexander Mackenzie Secondary School to record the soundtrack.

They even sent the finished video to Gene Simmons himself.

“I would love to see Gene Simmons face-to-face just to see that tongue,” said Moran.

The Observer is looking to pick one Bayfest Rock Super fan and one Bayfest Country Super Fan. Each winner will receive two passes to either all of this year’s Bayfest rock shows, or all Bayfest country shows, depending on their entry.

Winners will also receive dinner for two at Stokes By the Bay, and will be eligible to participate in designated “Meet & Greets” by certain artists if available.

Tell us in 200 words or less why you deserve to be crowned Rock Super Fan or Country Super Fan. Video submissions — under two minutes — are also encouraged.

We want to see your imagination at work — show us what makes you a true super fan that sets you apart from the rest.

E-mail your entries to editorial@theobserver.ca by Thursday, July 2, 2009. Please e-mail your videos in .mov Quicktime files or burn the video to a DVD and mail it, or drop it off at The Observer addressed as follows:
