Ken Barr Interview

Ken Barr Interview
Source: Rockpages.gr

We continue our KISS special feature with the 35th interview of a KISS-related figure. This week, Ken Barr, author of “We Are The Road Crew” and roadie for KISS in the 90s. Here’s an excerpt:

Rockpages.gr: From all that you’ve seen and all that you read (after the end of your collaboration with KISS), which is the one thing that people don’t know about this band and in your perspective should be noted down in this interview?

Ken Barr: I think that KISS is one of the hardest working bands in the world. I don’t think that people realize how much hard work goes into their show. From the before show preparations to the show itself, most people couldn’t do it. And they do a lot of shows per week, more than most bands. They aren’t afraid to do five or six shows a week. If that’s what the fans want, that’s what they’ll do.

Rockpages.gr: You have a book out called “We Are The Road Crew”. Tell us a few details about it…

Ken Barr: I wrote my book to chronicle the career I had in music. I went from bars on Long Island when I was a kid, to arenas around the world with bands like KISS. I was fortunate to say the least. The book is my recollections from a great career. I went places and met people I never could have dreamed of. Writing the book jarred a lot of old memories, I’m glad I wrote them down. It also shows how one gig can lead to another and how a club show you did five years ago can land you a tour today. It’s available at: www.cafepress.com/roadcrewstore.
