Kiss And Tell: Ace Frehley

KISS and Tell: Ace Frehley
Source: MagnetMagazine

Ace Frehley is guest editor all this week at Magnet Magazine. Here's his view on some of his favorite things.

Ace Frehley: On Led Zeppelin: Jimmy Page is one of my heroes. From recording and performing, Led Zeppelin was it for a long time. A friend of mine recently brought over a bootleg DVD copy of Zep’s reunion show a year or so ago in London, and it was great to see. Robert Plant at the Grammys last year was inspirational to me. Chalk one up for the old guys who still got it! Who knows? Maybe that’ll be me next year accepting for Anomaly!! Ha ha ha. Video of the reunion show after the jump.

Ace Frehley: On Apple Computers:
It’s funny. On my 1989-90 tour, I was sponsored by Zenith Laptop Computers! Anybody remember them? (I found some old promotional posters in my storage and recently threw them up for sale on my website’s merch page.) But I’ve always been a Mac guy. I don’t know how many Mac laptops I’ve bought throughout the years, not to mention the towers I use in my studio. My webmaster, David Souza, works at the main Apple campus south of San Francisco, and I’ve visited him there a few times now. I gotta say, if I wasn’t in the rock ‘n’ roll business, that’s where I’d love to work as a computer graphics guy! Great vibe, great people there.

Ace Frehley:
On New York City: My hometown! What can you say about the greatest city in the world!?! This place has had its share of ups and downs, but New York City always recovers. The people here are tough, no doubt about it. I’m proud to say I still make New York my home. I’ve lived in Hollywood a few times over the years, but I always return to the Big Apple. To me and to a lot of people, Kiss will always be associated with New York despite the fact that the current band now has that famous 90210 zip code!!!

Ace Frehley: On Sushi: I could eat sushi every day. It reminds me of traveling to Japan, one of the greatest places I love to visit. Eating healthy is really important to me these days, and this is a way to enjoy dinner without all the calories. If you’re ordering at home, pick me up some fresh salmon, yellowtail sashimi, miso soup and a tuna roll. Thanks.
