It seems that Walmarts lack of preparedness with getting "Sonic Boom" out in their stores on time and visible for the fans to buy is the reason KISS is not celebrating a No. 1 debut.
Gene Simmons tweeted the following on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009:
"Terrific response on SONIC BOOM. Could have been No. 1. Walmart was unprepared for the KISS ARMY response. But, they're great people..."
"Sonic Boom" charted at #2 in the U.S.A. last week, right behind Micheal Buble on the Billboard Top 200 album sales. Buble took the #1 spot on the top album sales charts by selling 139, 930 units in its first week of release, while KISS charted at #2 by selling 104, 485 units.
We also received many complaints from fans not being able to locate the album upon release day in the store, and it not being put out in time of opening.
