Counting down to our unique Bruce Kulick: The Private Party – The Amsterdam Edition event on November 27, here’s a brandnew interview with Bruce in which he discusses his past trips to Holland/Amsterdam.

-Do you remember the KISS lipsynch performance at the beach race in Holland?

“Very much so... it was very windy and tons of people. That was my first time in Holland. I even have a great photo of KISS with me and my brother with Meatloaf on the side of the stage.” [see image below]

-Your very first live show in Holland with KISS was on November 4th, 1984 in Zwolle.

“Wasn’t that the one where Gene was suddenly behind the drums? I remember that! The crowd was crazy at that show, and the band was on fire. Too bad we didn’t tape more of the Animalize shows. We had some crazy times.”

- Monster of Rock tour 1988. You played in Tilburg. Any stories?

“Being in Holland with all the shops you can get high legally, Eric was curious. Well... he didn't want to smoke. So he had two space cakes. With the THC in those, he was very high, but sadly not a good high. Gary Corbett, the keyboard player on tour with us, and I had to babysit Eric, as he was not feeling good with being so high.”

- 1992, Revenge promo tour. You guys did an instore in Amsterdam.

“I remember so many really excited fans... it was quite a scene. But I do remember seeing a Hendrix live box set CD with a t-shirt included. Had to have it!”

- Any thoughts about Holland in general?

“I love Holland and the Dutch fans have always been good to me. I remember my first ‘solo-gig’ with Lenita Erickson in 1996. I was just out the band and KISS fans welcomed me with open arms and we did this wild and crazy gig in the Hard Rock Café Amsterdam. Since then I’ve been to the Netherlands many times and it’s always been a pleasure to play there. The upcoming party in Amsterdam is to celebrate this all with my Dutch fans. And of course I will bring some special stuff from BK3 with me. We’re going to have a blast!”
